How to Clean a Coffee Maker

Having a coffee maker to make your favorite cup of coffee at home is a great thing. And it is important to protect it well so that it can serve you at its best. And cleaning your beloved coffee maker regularly in correct way is one of important step to always have your machine work at its best. Each kind of machine requires a different cleaning routine. I. Drip coffee makers 


Cleaning drip coffee maker deals with 4 key steps as follow:

1. Make your coffee pot empty: 


Remove every leftover coffee out of the pot and make the filter of used grounds empty.

2. Add vinegar and water: 


Pour 3 cups white vinegar and 6 cups of cold water into the coffee pot. Fill in the coffee maker’s container with the mixture into. Note that if your item is small, make some changes to the ratio of the white vinegar and water, yeah, the ratio of 1:2 is recommended.

3. Turn on the coffee maker to make a pot: 


As long as the brewing cycle is finished, shut off the machine and keep the vinegar solution inside the container about 15 minutes.

4. Brew two cycles of water-only: 


The purpose of this step is to remove remaining vinegar taste. And between brewing cycle, turn off the item for 15 minutes.

II. Single –cup coffee makers 


As drip coffee makers, single-cup coffee maker also requires 4 steps to be cleaned, but the detailed workout is a little bit different.

1. Make the machine empty 


Make sure that there isn’t any pod in the machine.

2. Pour vinegar and water: 


Fill in the coffee pot with 1/2 cup of white vinegar and one cup of cold water. Add the mixture into the machine’s reservoir. Keep the pod area empty.

3. Turn on the coffee maker for a cup brewing: 


As long as the brewing cycle is complete, turn the machine off and keep the vinegar solution to sitting for 15 minutes.

4. Brew water-only for two cycles: 


This step is to eliminate remaining vinegar taste. Turn off the machine about15 minutes between each brewing cycle.
